Detailed Description & Rules

This is an open-to-all 12-week season fantasy golf game utilizing the WMGT Tournament scoring data and schedule.

YOU are the Manager of your own weekly 4-team squad!

Managers (that's you!) draft 4 golfers each week based on the previous week's WMGT official rankings. 

The objective is to achieve the lowest possible cumulative score over the season. 

Best (lowest) total golf score of 10 out of 12 weeks wins the Fantasy Golf League (FGL) championship.

Manager Draft Rules

Draft Deadline: Picks must be submitted prior to each weeks WMGT registration closing time.

Selection Format (4 golfers):

  1. 1 golfer from last week's ranks 1–10
  2. 1 golfer from last week's ranks 11–20
  3. 1 golfer from last week's ranks 21–30
  4. 1 golfer from last week's ranks 31+

Unless otherwise stated: The first 3 weeks of the season Managers will make their choices from the previous WMGT season final standings. Week 4 of the season will use the current WMGT season standings. 

These options are subject to change.

Your weekly tiered available selections are updated each week and will be shown in your dropdown selection menu.

All Managers have the same selection options.

Managers CAN select themselves as one of the 4 players.

Managers may repeat the same golfers across weeks with no repeated weekly player limit.

NOTE: You can also hit the I'm feeling lucky button! Get randomly generated picks and hit submit! And you're done!

Submission Lock: Your team is LOCKED once the WMGT registration closes. After that no changes are allowed.

Missed Submissions: Scored as a zero for that week.

Withdrawals/Drops: If a selected golfer withdraws or is disqualified that week for any reason, the Manager plays short-handed. Their weekly score will be based on the remaining drafted golfer selections for that week who submitted scores.

Managers (you) are only responsible for submitting 4 drafted player names prior to the WMGT registration closing time. 

Managers are NOT responsible for inputting any scores.

Manager draft selections are hidden until the WMGT registration closes. After that, all Manager selections are viewable.

Players are selected from a "multiple pick" system, meaning multiple Managers can select the same player in a tier.

Managers are NOT required to play in the WMGT, but must have a login to the WMGT site to access the FGL.

Bonus Pick

Each Manager shall designate one of their 4 picks as their Predicted Winner for the WMGT when submitting their team. 

If your selected golfer wins the tournament, the Manager (you) receives a bonus of -10 added to the weekly total.

Weekly Scoring

Weekly Score = Sum of the final official tournament scores of the Manager's active selected golfers.

Example: -30 + -40 + -45 + -31 = -146

Only official WMGT final scores are used.

Season Scoring

  1. Calculate up to 12 weekly scores.
  2. Discard two highest (worst) weekly scores.
  3. Sum the remaining 10 weeks for the final season total.
  4. Lowest final season total wins the league.

League Standings

Unlimited number of Managers allowed for the league, but one participant cannot act as multiple managers. Weekly and season-long standings will be maintained by the WMGT website.

Administration

Contact the League Commissioner and/or WMGT Admin for rules clarification and issue resolution.

Behavior

All Managers within the FGL shall abide by all of the same rules of conduct and behavior as defined by The Classic Golf League.

Terms

Commissioner: Operates the league, updates rules, resolves issues.

Manager: You, the person submitting a team.

Player: Any person on the weekly updated WMGT list.

Roster: The Manager's 4 players drafted for that week.
